Privacy Policy

Slate is an app from Mark Weisberg. It is for tasks, notes, and saved links. This policy explains how Slate uses your data.
Your content
Slate saves your items and imported files on your device. If you use iCloud sync, Slate sends this content to your private iCloud database. The same happens if you recover saved iCloud content. Apple operates iCloud. Your device and iCloud settings control access to that service.
Link previews ask the linked website for data. That website can receive your IP address and normal web request data. Files you import are copied into Slate. Sharing or exporting an item sends the content you select to the destination you choose.
Speech and Ramble
Speech capture uses Apple speech services. It also uses microphone access. On Device uses Apple Intelligence on your device. Think Deeper sends your transcript to Apple Private Cloud Compute. Slate shows proposed items for review before it saves them. Availability depends on your device, system, and Apple Intelligence settings.
Purchases
Apple processes purchases. Slate uses RevenueCat to check subscription status. RevenueCat receives purchase and device identifiers needed for that check. Slate does not receive your payment details.
Analytics and advertising
Slate does not include an analytics SDK. It does not sell your content, use your content for advertising, or include advertising tracking.
Your choices
You can edit and delete content in Slate. Cloud delivery can take time. Content on an offline device can remain until it receives changes. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription. It does not necessarily remove iCloud data. Local changes that have not reached iCloud can be lost if you remove the app.
Apple and RevenueCat can retain transaction records to provide services and meet their obligations. Use the support page for privacy requests about Slate. Do not include private item content unless it is needed for your request.
