Everything you meant to keep.
Everything you meant to finish.

The thought always turns up at the worst moment. Get it down before it’s gone, find it again when you need it. No account to make, and nothing leaves your devices.

Some things get done. Some things stay.

Tonight’s groceries and the restaurant you keep meaning to try are not the same kind of thing. One needs finishing. One needs keeping. A board in Slate can be either, and you decide which.

For the things you have to get through.

The things with a deadline, and the things that just need doing at some point. Today, tomorrow, whenever. Nothing vanishes the second you tick it. It waits until you decide you’re finished with it.

A Slate to-do board with items under Today, Tomorrow, and Anytime.

You shouldn’t have to file it first.

You shouldn’t have to decide what kind of thing it is before you can write it down. One field takes the errand, the link, the half-sentence you’ll understand later. This board is real. Put something on it and cross it off.

Photos and filesThe photo of where you parked. The PDF someone sent. The screenshot you’ll need at the counter. All on the board, not scattered across four other apps.

A Slate board of saved links, each with a title, favicon, and preview line.

Real linksIn six months you won’t remember the address. You’ll remember it was the pasta one. Saved links keep their title and their preview, and that’s enough to find it.

Say it while you’re thinking it.

Three errands, a deadline and a maybe, all in one breath at a red light. Ramble listens and hands them back as separate items for you to look over. Nothing is saved until you say it is. It runs on Apple Intelligence, on your device unless you send it further.

Send the studio proposal tomorrow. Pick up flowers on the way home. And keep Saturday free for a long walk.

Uses Apple Intelligence on this device. The deeper pass is a separate choice and uses Apple’s Private Cloud Compute.

There is no Slate account, and no Slate server.

Most note apps ask you to trust a company with the things you write down. Slate never receives them. Your writing lives on your devices and syncs through your own iCloud, the same way your photos do. We could not read it if we wanted to.

Nothing to sign up for
No email, no password, no profile. Nothing to reset, and nothing of yours to lose in somebody else's breach. Download it and start writing.
Your iCloud, not our database
Sync runs through the private database in your own iCloud account. There is no copy on a server we own, because we do not own one. Leave iCloud off and everything simply stays on the device.
Apple Intelligence, and you choose where it runs
Ramble reads your text on the device itself. If you want the more thorough pass, you pick it deliberately and that text goes to Apple's Private Cloud Compute, never to us. Either way, nothing lands on a board until you have read it and said yes.

Some things genuinely cannot be late.

Give it a date and a time and Slate will tell you. Send a copy to Calendar or Reminders if that’s where you actually look. Slate copies it once and then leaves it alone: it won’t quietly rewrite your calendar later.

The Slate date and reminder sheet open on Mac, with due date, time, and reminder controls.

Even finishing something should feel like yours.

You’ll cross off a few hundred things this year. It may as well look like you did it. Pick a line and a color. This is the real one, drawn at the real speed.

A real Mac app. Not a phone app in a window.

Jot it on your phone in the queue, finish it at your desk, and it’s already there. Slate was written separately for each device rather than once and stretched to fit, so the Mac gets menus and windows that behave like a Mac, and the iPad opens wide with the board beside whatever you’re reading.

Three boards are free. That’s a real app.

What is the difference between a Keep board and a To-do board?

A To-do board is for things you need to finish. It has date sections and a circle you can mark done. A Keep board is for notes, links, and files you want again, so it has no done state. Both hold the same kinds of content. The type is set when you create the board.

Can I name my own boards?

Yes. Boards are yours. Create as many as your plan allows, name them whatever you like, and rename them later. The names you see in these screenshots are just one person's setup.

Is there a one-time option?

Yes. Slate Pro Lifetime is a single payment of $29.99 that never renews and stays with your Apple Account. Anyone can buy it, not just people who already subscribe. Monthly and yearly are there if you would rather not pay it all at once.

Do I need an account?

No. Slate does not create an account. Your items stay on the device. If you use iCloud, they also stay in your private iCloud database.

Is iCloud sync free?

Yes. Ongoing sync does not need Slate Pro. It can restore content that has already reached iCloud. It cannot restore local changes that never uploaded.

What happens if I stop paying for Pro?

Your boards, items, and files stay. You can still edit them. Existing Smart Boards and repeat schedules keep working. You need Pro to add more than three active boards, create or change Smart Boards, use templates, change repeat rules, and run Ramble.

What is Ramble?

Ramble turns speech or a saved note into suggested items. You review each suggestion, its board, and its date before anything is saved. It needs a supported device and Apple Intelligence. Availability depends on your system.

Does Slate replace Reminders and Calendar?

No. Add to Reminders and Add to Calendar make a separate copy. Later edits do not move between apps. Files and Slate alerts stay in Slate.

Keep what you need. Finish what you start.
